January, 2016 (New York, NY) — For native New Yorker Brooke Moriber – the singer/songwriter, rocker, and accomplished Broadway sensation who’s had a knack for stage performance since she was a young starlet – it seems 2016 is set to be yet another year of milestones, including helping the fight against Epidermolysis Bullosa and dropping her brand new single “Up All Night”.

Recent shows have earned Brooke glowing reviews applauding her “huge vocals” and original pop songs that are “destined for high rotation”, and with 7 Broadway shows to her resume, roles opposite such stars as Lili Taylor, Kristen Johnston, Cyndi Lauper and Alan Cumming- she’s garnered many accolades as a dynamic performer on stage, film and TV. Brooke has had the opportunity to perform her music on East and West coasts, gracing the stages of some of NY and LA’s most legendary venues such as The Knitting Factory, Joe’s Pub, The Cutting Room, Pianos, Arlene’s Grocery, Genghis Cohen and Room 5. There’s no doubt Brooke Moriber will continue her rise as a stage sensation in 2016. But with a cause like Epidermolysis Bullosa research so near and dear to her, the Rockwood show is sure to help make an incredible impact as well.

She’ll make her long awaited return to Rockwood Music Hall- Stage 2 at 8:00PM on Monday, February 29th to help raise funds and awareness for the EB Research Partnership by releasing her song “Fire” and donating all proceeds to the organization! Coupled with such electrifying special guests as The Slim Kings Feat. Legendary Drummer Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel) set to start off the night and another performance at Mercury Lounge April 20th;  2016 is looking like an exciting and impactful year for the talented starlet!

EB Research Partnership (formerly Jackson Gabriel Silver Foundation) is the largest 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to funding research aimed at treating and ultimately curing Epidermolysis Bullosa, a group of devastating and life-threatening skin disorders that affect children from birth. An individual with EB lacks a critical protein that binds the layers of skin together. Without this protein, the skin tears apart, blisters and sheers off, leading to severe pain, disfigurement, and wounds that never heal. EB affects the body inside and out. Blisters occur all over the body, as well as in the eyes, mouth, esophagus, and other internal organs. EB causes severe pain, disfigurement, and in too many cases, an early death from an aggressive form of skin cancer. It is estimated that EB affects at least one in every 20,000 births. EB is not specific to any ethnicity or gender. Given that EB affects only 30,000 people in the US, advancing this research relies on the generosity of individuals and corporations.

With donor support, EB Research Partnership has been aggressively and efficiently funding research since 2010. To date, they have raised over $8 million for research grants and been instrumental in securing an additional $35 million for critical EB research. The organization helped to create and continues to support research enabling infrastructure to ensure that treatments will get to those in need as swiftly as possible, and with stars like Brooke Moriber bringing more awareness to the disorder it can only help in the fight.

Motivational Rapper, Speaker, Role Model, and Counter-Bully “Unkle Adams” Is Using His Hip-Hop Status to Spread Important Messages

image08-1.pngimage06.png

January, 2016 (Saskatchewan, Canada) — Have you ever heard of a Rapper being endorsed by Politicians, Police Departments, Paramedics, School Principals, Guidance Counselors, Teachers, Parents, Grandparents, Students, Mental Health Organizations, High Ranking Public Officials, Environmental Activists, and more? Well, Curtis Adams AKA “Unkle Adams” is definitely not your “average” Rapper. The Canada-born MC not only performs uplifting and inspirational music, but travels to schools to speak with students and give them hope on a range of topics from bullying to health, through his music and presentations he is giving “hope to the hopeless” and a “voice to the voiceless”. Bullying, Climate Change, Impaired Driving, Fitness, Healthy Eating, Self-Harm and Domestic Abuse are just some of the subjects Unkle Adams has touched on in his music. His hit anti-bullying song/music video “Unkle Adams – I Am Stronger” has amassed more than 10,000,000 views between Facebook and YouTube, and throughout his flourishing career he’s helped a wide range of students and parents alike confront their struggles and change their lives for the better. His work has saved countless lives by preventing suicides. His songs and videos are used as educational tools in schools all over the world. Simply put, Unkle Adams is on a mission the change the world with his music. Now, as he heads into the new year, he’ll be giving an addictions and law of attraction presentation called “The Freedom Presentation” with friend JC Wylde on Tuesday, February 2nd at Cumberland House Cree Nation in Saskatchewan and presenting his “I Am Stronger than Bullying Presentation” at a Hugh Sutherland School in Carstairs, Alberta on Wednesday, February 24th.

Unkle Adams has received hundreds if not thousands of tweets, Facebook messages, and emails from youth and adults alike telling him how his music has impacted their lives. Many of these messages are from people thanking Unkle Adams for saving their lives with his music (as shown below). His music and music videos act as a form of medicine for thousands by helping them to cope with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and suicidal thoughts. Here are just a few of those messages;

WATCH: Unkle Adams – I Am Stronger (Official Anti-Bullying Music Video)

Curtis Adams AKA “Unkle Adams” was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. At the age of 13 he fell in love with Hip Hop music and soon discovered his natural knack for rhyming syllables. Starting out as a freestyle emcee, he quickly progressed from performing at parties, to performing in front of large audiences at local clubs and bars. Today, with 14+ years of experience under his belt, Unkle Adams has established himself as a powerhouse emcee on an international level. Listen to just one of his songs and you will soon understand why. Choosing to write songs containing material that is inspirational, motivational and educational rather than some rappers who are negative, stereotypical and materialistic- the former heavy equipment operator by trade has funded all of his music, recording, advertising, merchandise, equipment and video production independently.

WATCH: Unkle Adams – A Man on a Mission

Curtis has been an Uncle since the very second he was born. In fact, he has a nephew who is only ten days older that doubles as his best friend, so naturally, growing up all of his friends called him “Uncle”. Trying to change and evolve hip hop music into its next chapter, Unkle Adams elicits his fans support in this process so that they may have a hand in changing the negative stereotyping that is often associated with hip hop music.

From Media Outlets to Students, Parents, and Law Enforcement Officials; Adams has received tons of positive feedback on both his music and presentations:

“It is one of the best anti-bullying resources I have ever used and I am very picky” – Susan McLean (27 year police officer and Australia’s leading Cyber Safety Expert)

“Empowering kids to handle bullies is a mission for Unkle Adams” – QC Magazine

“He saved my daughter’s life” – Thankful Parent

With such powerful messages encompassing the wide range of big issues young people face on a constant basis – Unkle Adams seems to be changing the game in regards to not only hip-hop and music in general, but how his lyrical content and persona can help those in need of guidance.

Unkle Adams has released two albums “Humble Beginnings” and “Pulse” as well as six singles. His current music catalog consists of twenty-nine songs and every one of them delivers a message.

While receiving a Degree in Interior Design, with honors, she gathered the necessary experience working with various products, in showrooms, and with other Interior Designers.

Lori has also co-authored the book Feng Sh…What? The Basic Rules of Good Design with Julie Hernandez, a licensed therapist. This is the first book written in dialogue format which explains the decorating process. With an easy-going conversational manner, they take you on a journey that explores the unique relationship between personality and design. Magician and Balloon Artist Friends Have “Something” Up Their Sleeves Just In Time For Valentine’s Day

John Reid and Brian Daniel South Turn Humorous Gift Into Baking Mold and Cookbook Perfect for Any Occasion, Including February 14th!

January, 2016 (New York, NY) — With the Christmas Season in the rearview and Valentine’s Day soon approaching, New York and Utah based magician friends Brian Daniel South and John Reid have created the perfect SOMETHING to get for that special SOMEONE! With their unique new book of creative ideas and recipes that comes along with a silicone baking mold, it’s the perfect two-in-one gift that’s sure to delight sweethearts and friends alike who just want that little extra Something to let them know you care!

Something started years ago when a friend showed Reid (Magician, Balloon Artist, and Founder of Epic Balloons) a sponge in the shape of the word “something.” He laughed for days thinking about the simplicity of this silly prop created for clowns. Not long after he’d purchased a box of somethings, he realized he didn’t have a gift for a housewarming party. In a pinch, the magician and balloon artist grabbed one and brought his host “something for the new house.” The reaction was outstanding and it was the hit of the party. He knew right then that he was going to give everybody “something” when they got a new house…when they had a baby…in fact, one year, everyone got a little “something” in their stockings for Christmas!

In an effort to share the fun and get this wonderful idea into the hands of more people, Reid decided to make a cookie cutter in the shape of “something.” Calling on his friend, fellow magician, and founder of Teach By Magic– Brian South, who he says is “one of the most creative people I know”, South immediately wanted to be a part of what he figured could really be “something” big! The two made a cookie cutter and then quickly realized that a silicon bake form would be even more versatile, and they also knew they had to include book of creative ideas and recipes that could be used with the mold. So–reaching out to friends and family for help, and the help of dozens of other new friends who shared their amazing ideas–they compiled the SOMETHING book with 365 ways to use…well, SOMETHING that they hope will create smiles for years to come!

Truly versatile in his talents, “Something” is not the first thing to bring John Reid notoriety, however.  Having dazzled and enchanted audiences for over 20 years with his sensational balloon displays and live magic performances, Reid has traveled from trade shows and conventions to Disney and even The White House…where he has been the President’s balloon twister of choice for their 4th of July celebrations for the past 5 years!! Having broken the World Record for the biggest balloon sculpture built by a single person at the 2014 Salt Lake City Comic Con with the Transformers inspired “Poptimus Prime”, Reid and his Epic Balloons are some of the most visually delighting spectacles to ever be created. Often being called on to teach other balloon twisters and judge balloon sculpting contests, he’s also known for his dazzling balloon dresses and couture designs which were recently featured in Vegas Magazine. John has made over 200 and counting for fashion shows, celebrities, and even a wedding dress! As a magician, he’s been able to delight audiences with his comedy magic show combining laughs with fantastic tricks that engage kids through audience participation.

The SOMETHING mold is made out of food-grade silicone, is dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe (up to 400°F)! With recipes that include homemade fudge, classic cake, homemade breads, homemade oatmeal, the homemade bath bomb and homemade soap for relaxation and bathing, chocolate chip SOMETHING, and even bird-feeder and homemade dog treat SOMETHING’s, there’s a SOMETHING for every occasion!

With so much of SOMETHING to offer, Reid and South have come up with the perfect individual or gift idea that’s ideal for this upcoming Valentine’s Day, and also year-round!

Plainview’s All Music Inc. Becomes “Featured Shop of the Month” for Guitar Shop Tees

The Go-to Site For Limited-Edition T-Shirts From Legendary and Iconic Guitar Shops Will Feature Long Island’s Own For the Month of January

January, 2016 (Plainview, NY) — For THIS MONTH ONLY Long Island’s own All Music Inc. of Plainview will be the “Featured Shop of The Month” at Guitar Shop Tees! The company – which features new limited edition t-shirts each month representing the very best guitar shops from around the world – recently chose the legendary LI music staple and will be producing custom shirts along with some “top secret stuff” for its members, who can sign up for Month-to-Month, 3 Month, 6 Month, or 1 Year packages.

The company recently posted “We are proud to announce the January ‘Featured Shop of the Month’ ALL MUSIC (located just 35 miles east of New York City in Plainview, New York). This shop has been near and dear to us for many years and we are excited to present them to you.” to their Facebook page, and as per their guidelines will only be releasing the shirt through January 31st. Each shop is selected by it’s history, service and reputation. Shops are also included from recommendations and submissions from members and input from many touring musicians. The company’s main goal is to bring to its members great notable shops that are “well worth the visit”.

Eric Feldman – Founder of Guitar Shop Tees – has said of this month’s featured shop: “We’re thrilled to kick of the new year by celebrating All Music in Plainview, New York – a shop that has been very near and dear to me for decades, and one that exemplifies everything that Guitar Shop Tees stands for – independence, community, loyalty, quality, and service. All Music is where I spent a great deal of time as a kid.  I’d ride my bike to the shop and walk into a treasure trove of instruments.  I spent hours staring at guitars I hoped to play someday.  My endless visits and discussions at All Music greatly influenced my passion for music and triggered my lifelong interest to support and experience independent guitar shops around the world.  All Music and every shop we proudly feature at Guitar Shop Tees has poured their blood, sweat, and tears into the stores that they and their families have independently owned for decades. It’s unique when you can look back on your life and see the people and places that made an impact.  For me, All Music was one of those places.”

All Music Inc has been the Long Island musicians number one choice for quality equipment, rentals and lessons for over 30 years, representing as the Long Island musicians best friend at South Oyster Bay Rd in Plainview. The company has long been considered the Island’s premier guitar shop and music school, with their sales associates and teachers intent on helping to create lifelong musicians with a desire to be the best at their craft. Just as importantly, the brand has always taken real steps to stand out and distinguish themselves from the other chain music stores and schools with some of the best repair technicians; who work on all guitar, amp,  brass, woodwind and orchestral instruments, consistent musician and venue outreach, and the strong strategic partnerships and alliances they have formed.

Thanks to the knowledgeable and experienced people who work there, who are NOT commissioned salespeople and are dedicated to serving the customers, All Music Inc. is known to take a personalized approach to all music needs so that customers get what they want at the best price. Inside the store there is an extensive collection of new, vintage, rare and pre-owned instruments (over 1000 guitars in stock!) to fit any budget, so it’s no wonder that they’ve become the premier music destination for professional musicians and people passionate about honing their craft in the area. Besides the vast array and sheer volume of merchandise on display, they also host regular clinics with renowned players from every style imaginable giving their customers entre’ and insight into those they look up to. Past clinics have included Mark Mendoza of Twisted Sister, John Moyer of “Disturbed”, Mike Orlando of “Adrenaline Mob”, and more.

Additionally, their deep connections with the most prominent manufacturers in the business have allowed them to create special agreements with companies like PRS Guitars and Larivee Guitars who allow the All Music store in Plainview to be their only independent dealer on Long Island. They also have a fantastic selection of Gibson, Fender, Martin, Taylor, Charvel, Gretsch, Seagull, Godin, and Music Man.

There has been a budding relationship between All Music and The Space at Westbury, where they recently opened the “All Music Lounge at The Space” which allows local musicians a chance to perform at the facility, and All Music also did the Contractor Appreciation Party that included Twisted Sister, CJ Ramone and Good Rats members. All Music has also been partnering with the World Famous Tattoo Lou’s, where the All Music team has been involved with the booking and music production of the stage at the past four United Ink Tattoo/Art/Music festivals, as well as for their Poker Bike run and on other projects.

Additionally, the All Music’s Rock N Roll University Band – comprised of some of the best students from the school – have performed at the aforementioned events, and regularly performs at places like the Smithtown Festival and Patchogue’s Alive After Five. Adding to the empire, and founded back in 2011, All Music’s Rock and Roll University in Hauppauge is a performance based rock and roll school where the students take private music lessons each week and then attend rehearsals which all lead up to live rock concerts in theaters around Long Island, New York. They have hosted their Big Concert Series at venues like Theatre Three in Port Jefferson and The Boulton Center in Bayshore.

Now with their inclusion as Guitar Shop Tees “Featured Shop of The Month”, fans of the iconic Long Island music store will be able to purchase their limited edition All Music Inc. shirt THIS MONTH ONLY before it is retired FOREVER!

Gnarly Karma Bringing Their Folksy Jam Rock Fusion and Good Vibes to NYC’s “The Bitter End” Saturday, January 23rd

Long Island Based Foursome to Play First Show of the New Year at the Legendary Venue On The Heels of Their Debut Album Release “Classic Breeze”

New York, NY (January, 2016) — In a world of ever-growing music genres and subgenres it can often be a hard sell for band’s attempting to mix a lot of different influences while still keeping unique elements to their sound that make them stand out. For Long Island’s own Gnarly Karma however, this seems fairly effortless in regards to their debut album “Classic Breeze”- released via iTunes in late September of this year. Now, as the band heads into 2016, you’ll have your chance to catch them Saturday, January 23rd at New York City’s The Bitter End– 147 Bleecker St, New York, NY!

The group consisting of members Mike Renert (Vocals, Guitar, Harmonica), Jarrod Beyer (Drums, Percussion), Ryan McAdam (Bass), and Billy Hanley (Alto & Tenor Saxophone, Keyboard, BGV’s) brings a wide and varied range of influences to the table equating to their unique sound, which is most often associated with that of Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, and Mumford & Sons, but not restricted by genre. Originally starting in 2012 with Renert and Beyer, McAdam and Hanley later came into the mix having gone to school together with Beyer, who’d also performed with McAdam in Alt band “We Love Radio”.

Though the “outer layer” of their music could be most closely associated with the folksy “jam” elements of bands like DMB, Mumford, or even O.A.R., a more unique style mixing a harder acoustic-punk, post-hardcore edge in many of the songs off “Classic Breeze” makes it evident that–like many bands often pigeonholed by genres–there’s more to find when you keep peeling. With songs like the acoustic driven “Neptune” evoking Jimmy Eat World’esque or even Taking Back Sunday comparisons, “Directions” could be more closely associated with that of Dave Matthews through not only Hanley’s eloquent horn arrangement but Renerts vocals as well. A tune like “Please Come Home” brings these elements full circle with its catchy chorus “Don’t ask me where I’m going // Don’t ask me where I’ve been” with overdubbed crowd vocals making the true live band experience unmistakeable.

With so many musical elements making up the true core of Gnarly Karma, the band has said of both past and upcoming performances “We give it our all at every show, and do everything in our power to make sure the people that come to see us feel our energy and contribute to it”. And with “Classic Breeze” having debuted earlier this year, you can kick off the new year and bring some of your own Gnarly Karma and positivity to see them rock The Bitter End on Saturday, January 23rd at 147 Bleecker St, New York, NY!
