Comedian, Actor, and Hockey Fan Chris Roach From CBS’s “Kevin Can Wait” Hosts “Not Another Puckin’ Podcast: Comedians On Hockey”

Playing the Loveable “Mott” on The New Kevin James Comedy, The Long Islander and Diehard NY Rangers Fan Talks Hockey with Fellow Comics John Trueson, Lori Palminteri, and Anthony DiDomenico

Chris Roach and Fellow “Kevin Can Wait” Star Gary Valentine on the Jumbotron at a Recent NY Rangers Game at MSG

With his recent fame on CBS’s new sitcom “Kevin Can Wait” (produced by CBS Studios in association with Sony Pictures Television) playing loveable friend “Mott” opposite star Kevin James- Long Island comic/actor/writer Chris Roach is parlaying his success into a new podcast dedicated to another one of his lifelong passions…HOCKEY! On his new “Not Another Puckin’ Podcast: Comedians on Hockey”, Roach has teamed up with fellow comics John Trueson, Lori Palminteri, and Anthony DiDomenico to discuss everything from the NY Rangers & Islanders rivalry to other noted comics who are hockey fans and more in a hilarious and insightful show that’s sure to entertain!

It’s clear in listening to the very first episode of “Not Another Puckin’ Podcast” that both comic and hockey fans alike are in for a hysterical ride as Roach, Trueson, Palminteri, and DiDominico combine their insatiable appetites for both humor and hockey. As a lifelong NY Rangers fan along with Trueson and Palminteri, Roach stirs the famed Rangers vs. Islanders rivalry with Islanders fan DiDomenico on the subject of how they’ve all grown to love the game as a whole…but similarly enjoy the trash-talk.

Continuing into the hilarity of NY Rangers coach John Tortorella’s postgame press conferences and how they may have inspired the Trump presidency, Roach tells of his start as a Rangers fan from his former NYC Transit Police Officer father bringing home hockey sticks from his nearby Madison Square Garden post, and how he was once kicked out of the house after a Stanley Cup win over fear he’d throw another TV remote through the wall. And that’s just the beginning of Episode 1!

With recent interviews on United Stations Radio, SiriusXM with Jim Breuer and his fellow castmates, The Anthony Cumia Show discussing his former NYPD career, with Jeffrey Gurian on how KCW came about, The Laugh Button where he talked about everything from his love for hockey to the trials and tribulations of being 6’6, WTNH’s “CT Style” explaining how he got his big break, on his comedy writing with ABC Tampa Bay’s “Morning Blend”, and hamming it up on the jumbotron at a recent NY Rangers game at Madison Square Garden; Roach has been on roll bringing side-splitting comedy to the masses. He even chatted it up with Katie Couric and fellow Long Islander Billy Joel at the Piano Man’s recent Madison Square Garden performance!

Uncle Frank makes the best kind of music…. music with soul, funk, rage and love! The band, made up of multi-instrumentalists and producers Frank Benbini (also one third of The Fun Lovin’ Criminals) & Naim Cortazzi, the band has garnered National Radio plays from Huey Morgan on BBC6 Music and BBC Radio 2 and A-listed on Regional Radio throughout the UK. Already having made waves in 2016 with features in The Sun, Spindle Magazine, Music-News.com and The Daily Star, Uncle Frank took the last ever CMJ Music Festival by storm in October 2015 at Fat Baby in New York described as ‘The best Band at CMJ without a doubt’ by Spindle Magazine.

Touring with the legendary UB40 in America, Frank and Naim duetted with Ali Campbell and UB40 at New Jersey’s Performing Arts Centre singing a reggae version Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ which is on the Radio Riddler album ‘Purple Reggae’ (produced by Frank and Fast from FLC) and featuring vocals from Ali Campbell, Sinead O’Connor, Suggs from Madness, Citizen Cope and Beverley Knight.

The band’s label debut album ‘SMILES FOR MILES’ released in May 2104 was Best described by Penny Black Music- ‘It is proving impossible to keep this out of my CD player at the moment. A fantastic album’. The pair’s love of music has led them to create an album that is an eclectic mix of soul, pop, jazz, funk, old-school hip hop and easy listening. Taking three-months to record ‘Smiles for Miles’ in their home studio, Benbini and Cortazzi arranged, played the majority of instruments themselves, and engineered the whole album.

Uncle Frank were signed to an unprecedented 3 album deal in 2013 by MITA Records, and their first single ‘STEP INTO MY ROOM’ was supported by an innovative tour of fans houses, performing concerts in their living rooms. This was featured by BBC 1 Television Evening News which reached an audience of 600,000 viewers. The band’s second single ‘SOMETHIN’ SOMETHIN’ accompanied by a robot animation video was featured by The Daily Express, saying “Frank Benbini and Naim Cortazzi, have spent years making music and their remarkable output ranges from soul to funk and old-school hip hop”. They then embarked upon a lengthy acoustic tour of universities in The Coffee House Sessions picking up new fans and playlists on the way. The Gay Times even premiered the Flashdance inspired video for ‘DANCE INSTRUCTOR’, which hit over 100,000 views on YouTube.

“The world needs this kind of music – because it’s real and self-made, feel-good and original.”- Uncle Frank

NY Film Production Company Owltainment Gearing Up for 2017 Film Festival Season

NY Film Production Company Owltainment Gearing Up for 2017 Film Festival Season

Founded by NYU Graduates and Dedicated to Bridging the Gap Between U.S. and Chinese Film Industries

When it comes to creating feature length, documentary, and short films that are both informative and use unique concepts that explore new technologies while also focusing on international production, NY based film company Owltainment has been quite busy in the last few months. Having recently been invited to show their film “Enduring Legacy – China Story” at the Chinese Cultural Foundation’s Annual Award Ceremony in NY this past December, the company has now set its sights on entering its films into a cavalcade of 2017 Film Festivals in the coming months!

Owltainment was founded by Yuanyuan Chen and Mingda Dong, two New York University students who decided to use their creative talents to–among many others–help create daring and unique new concepts. The company uses innovative ideas such as cell phone filmmaking, showing others with or without a film production background how to share their stories with the “camera” in their pocket. In addition to this creative concept, Owltainment also produces features and documentaries with regular cameras, teaming up with specialists. And while filmmaking has been a hot topic in both the U.S. and China for many years, Owltainment is continuing to help bring the two industries closer together.

Owltainment has already won a number of awards for their films from the Best Shorts Award (Watermark) to the Gold Award: Student Film (Red Shadow) and Silver Award: Documentary Film (Cellphone Journey)

at the California Film Awards.

Owltainment Founders Mingda Dong (Left) and Yuanyuan Chen (Right) at the Honor 8 Cellphone Launch at the California Accademy of Arts and Sciences this Past August

With a versatile approach, helping to introduce American film scholars to China and hosting lectures and seminars for Chinese students and filmmakers, the company has been taking a head-on approach to film education. As film festival organizers themselves they also continually host, support, and implement activities (like the Honor Festival) for Film Festivals both in the U.S. and China.

Keep an eye out for some of Owltainment’s incredible works as they hit the 2017 Film Festival circuit and continue continue their efforts to shed light on both the U.S. and Chinese film industries!

Brooke Moriber to Releases New Single “For The Gold” ft. Sky Katz Friday, March 17th

Multi-Talented Singer/Songwriter/Broadway & TV Actress Set to Debut New Track In Collaboration with 12 Year Old Rapper and “America’s Got Talent” Season 11 Star

This St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17th you won’t need to follow the rainbow “For The Gold” on the other side as singer/songwriter, rocker, and Broadway sensation Brooke Moriber releases another brand new single! Following her recent Valentine’s Day release of “Up All Night” with accompanying music video, Moriber has teamed up with 12 Year Old Hip-Hop Sensation Sky Katz of “America’s Got Talent” for a new inspirational track about determination and following your dreams.

In the empowering song, Moriber belts “Can’t stop me now, I’m gonna break the mold, I’m going for the gold, don’t have the time to wait forever // Now, I’m gonna take control, doing it for the gold, don’t have the time to wait forever” as Sky Katz hypes the message with her own dynamic lyrical flow adding “….ain’t nobody better than you, put your feelings aside // Keep your mind on the finish line, swallow your pride // It’s your time, the struggle is a reason to shine // Every mountain in the way, just be ready to climb // Everybody on the side you were meant to survive // If you do it for the gold take control of your life”. In an age where bold and courageous messages can be scarce, it is certainly a song that is meant to embolden.

Recent shows have earned Brooke Moriber glowing reviews applauding her “huge vocals” and original pop songs that are “destined for high rotation”, and with 7 Broadway shows to her resume, roles opposite such stars as Lili Taylor and Kristen Johnston (for which her acting ability received special praise by The New York Times), Cyndi Lauper, and Alan Cumming- she’s garnered many accolades as a dynamic performer on stage, film and TV. Brooke has had the opportunity to perform her music on East and West coasts, gracing the stages of legendary venues such as The Knitting Factory, Joe’s Pub, The Cutting Room, Pianos, Arlene’s Grocery, The Wellmont Theater, Genghis Cohen, Room 5, Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall, and the star-studded Bridgehampton Benefit for the Starkey Hearing Foundation at Campbell Stables. She’s also been doing many co-writes in NY, LA and Nashville with known commodities like Pulse Records’ Sean Walsh, Jimmy Nichols, and Brian Desveaux.

Brooke’s distinctive sound ranges in influences from Linda Ronstadt to Amy Lee and her New York City roots have lent to a very unique career. Growing up in Greenwich Village and down the block from NYC’s Washington Square Park–an area known for being an artists haven since the 1960s–it’s no wonder Moriber was drawn to the stage. Celebrated for her “clarion voice” by the Associated Press and as “A ravishing star with a paint-peeling belt”, she’s had the opportunity to work with legendary Broadway director Harold Prince in Parade- a musical in which she originated the role of “lola Stover.” Though her love for the stage is evident, Brooke’s talents have been summoned in front of the camera as well. Having made several TV appearances on Law and Order: CI, Swift Justice, A Town’s Revenge, Off-Track Betty, Descent, and As The World Turns.

Yet with all that time performing both on and off Broadway as well as her many TV appearances, Moriber had also managed to catch the attention of producers who discovered that she had yet another gift as a talented songwriter. Piecing together catchy hooks that connected with listeners and turned life’s ups and downs into driving pop/rock tunes, she quickly took to performing with her own band.

Check Out Brooke Moriber’s EPK HERE

Hailing from Long Island NY, Hip-Hop Pioneer and BMI Recording Artist Sky Katz has been hitting the ground running in the music industry since discovering her talent and passion for rapping at the age of 5. Sky has kept the momentum up ever since with her dynamic, witty, and energetic style with an old school chemistry. Appearing on Season 11 of America’s Got Talent, she wowed the panel judges (and audience) with her single “Fresh”. Her single “Haters” (A re-vamp of Biz Markie’s “Just A Friend”) followed suit, which received critical acclaim and positive reception worldwide. With the media taking notice- she’s been featured on Pix 11 Morning News, Fox 5’s Good Day NY, and has been interviewed by Newsday, The New York Post, and more!

Now, as the two stars have come together for this hard-hitting and fearless new track, it will surely empower others to want to reach new heights and go “For the Gold” this St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17th!
