November, 2016 (Long Island, NY) — For well over a decade, Lori-Girl Creations and its Founder and President Lori Miller have been the go-to Interior Design Company, providing a exquisite and high-end look for a shoestring budget. Since its founding, Lori-Girl has helped a diverse group of clientele to achieve their visions. Now, Miller has the opportunity to use her talents to help a great cause as well.

As a chosen sponsor of this year’s American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge NYC Holiday Bash Gala, It seems that Lori’s reputation as an exceptional interior designer has been rightly recognized. Each table at the event will elaborately represent a theme created by top designers like Miller who will translate their interpretation of the Hope Lodge experience. Along with this, a silent auction will take place, and musical entertainment and program remarks (including those by a Hope Lodge guest) will round out the evening. With an interest from several luxury publications and the finest financial, automotive, design, cosmetics and fashion brands as event sponsors for this year’s gala, it is clear that attending is quite an opportunity.

The Holiday Bash raises funds for Hope Lodge NYC, which provides an environment that focuses on healing for those who are battling cancer away from home and has saved families over $40 million in lodging costs alone. Last year, 300 of New York’s socialites and executives attended this gala, raising over $250,000 for the cause. Miller, who has battled cancer herself, is more than ready to take on her responsibilities as a sponsor and designer, creating a tablescape for the event.

Haiti Hurricane Relief Benefit Concert to Be Held at Jamesport Meeting House Saturday, November 19th

The Event–Sponsored by Dr. & Mrs. Bellamy Brook, Frank DiStefano of Michelangelo of Mattituck, and Stefano DiBenedetto of The Hang Productions–Will Raise Money for Dr. Brook’s Health Clinic in an Effort to Help Those Displaced by Hurricane Matthew

November, 2016 (Jamesport, NY) — Following the devastating effects of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti–which killed hundreds and left 800,000 without food and thousands more homeless and displaced–a Relief Benefit Concert is being held on Saturday, November 19th, 4PM, at Jamesport Meeting House (1590 Main Rd, Jamesport NY) to help support the recent efforts of Riverhead-based Dr. Bellamy Brook through, who recently traveled to the health clinic he helped set up in 2014. With help from the Kindest Hearts Foundation, the event will feature great live music and entertainment from the incredibly talented Cass Dillon, Kim Vogels, Mariel and more, with complimentary wine and Italian delicacies to be served.

With Dr. Brook’s health clinic (which was opened in a school building, located in a village that otherwise has little access to healthcare or education) one of the few structures left standing in the village, which was devastated by Hurricane Matthew at the beginning of the month, they are in dire need of donations to help those affected. “We’re currently using it as a shelter, because a lot of people were displaced from their homes,” Brook explained.

It is the second time in six years that a natural disaster has inflicted widespread death and destruction on the island country, one of the poorest in the world. Hurricane Matthew struck just as Haitians were beginning to recover from a catastrophic earthquake in 2010, which left more than 100,000 dead and millions more affected.

“People are forced to create their own shelters out of metal, tin, cardboard, sheets – and they make cities out of them,” Brook said. “I know poverty here at home can be pretty bad, but what you see in Haiti is something you’ve never seen before.”

Benefit Concert performer Cass Dillon is a multi-instrumentalist and producer as well as an acclaimed songwriter who recently was chosen by Billboard Magazine as one of their favorite unsigned songwriters. Lately, he has produced several studio records of different genres. His first major release was written by Billy Joel and titled “Christmas in Fallujah”. Joel wrote the song after receiving many letters from military service members serving in Iraq but chose not to perform it because he “thought it should be somebody young, about a soldier’s age.” Dillon came to Joel’s attention through his longtime musical director Tommy Byrnes and artist manager Stefano DiBenedetto with whom Dillon had been working. Also performing, Singer/Songwriter/Actress Kim Vogels has been attracting plenty of attention with her unique blend of “Gypsy Folk Rock” from Long Island’s East End all the way to the Big Apple. Having recently released her debut EP “Native”, which Skope Magazine called “somewhat flawless”, she also appeared on live TV performing for Verizon FiOS’ “Rick’s Rising Stars”. Finally, the incredible talent of Mariel–the 14-year-old singer/songwriter who caught the attention of Grammy winning producers and is quickly proving to be a rising star in the music industry–will be showcased as she continues to spread positivity and tell stories that leave listeners with strong messages from anti-bullying to changing the world.

With such a great lineup of musical acts supporting Dr. Brook’s incredible humanitarian efforts in Haiti, this is one event that is not to be missed on Saturday, November 19th, 4PM, at Jamesport Meeting House (1590 Main Rd, Jamesport NY).

UK’s Uncle Frank Debuts New Single “Fountains”

The Funk/Pop/Hip-Hop/Rock Group Out of Leicester Drops First Track From Forthcoming 2017 Album “Love Lion”

November, 2016 — Following the release of 2015’s ‘MAXIMUM RESPECT’, Uncle Frank– the funky, technicolored, UK group invoking the spirit of Barry White, James Brown, Hall and Oates, Nile Rodgers and more are back! Releasing their brand new single “Fountains” along with an accompanying music video, the band who “will stick in your head and create smiles for miles” is set to kick off a set of live dates in the UK this December!

Uncle Frank makes the best kind of music…. music with soul, funk, rage and love! The band, made up of multi-instrumentalists and producers Frank Benbini (also one third of The Fun Lovin’ Criminals) & Naim Cortazzi, the band has garnered National Radio plays from Huey Morgan on BBC6 Music and BBC Radio 2 and A-listed on Regional Radio throughout the UK. Already having made waves in 2016 with features in The Sun, Spindle Magazine, Music-News.com and The Daily Star, Uncle Frank took the last ever CMJ Music Festival by storm in October 2015 at Fat Baby in New York described as ‘The best Band at CMJ without a doubt’ by Spindle Magazine.

Touring with the legendary UB40 in America, Frank and Naim duetted with Ali Campbell and UB40 at New Jersey’s Performing Arts Centre singing a reggae version Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ which is on the Radio Riddler album ‘Purple Reggae’ (produced by Frank and Fast from FLC) and featuring vocals from Ali Campbell, Sinead O’Connor, Suggs from Madness, Citizen Cope and Beverley Knight.

The band’s label debut album ‘SMILES FOR MILES’ released in May 2104 was Best described by Penny Black Music- ‘It is proving impossible to keep this out of my CD player at the moment. A fantastic album’. The pair’s love of music has led them to create an album that is an eclectic mix of soul, pop, jazz, funk, old-school hip hop and easy listening. Taking three-months to record ‘Smiles for Miles’ in their home studio, Benbini and Cortazzi arranged, played the majority of instruments themselves, and engineered the whole album.

Uncle Frank were signed to an unprecedented 3 album deal in 2013 by MITA Records, and their first single ‘STEP INTO MY ROOM’ was supported by an innovative tour of fans houses, performing concerts in their living rooms. This was featured by BBC 1 Television Evening News which reached an audience of 600,000 viewers. The band’s second single ‘SOMETHIN’ SOMETHIN’ accompanied by a robot animation video was featured by The Daily Express, saying “Frank Benbini and Naim Cortazzi, have spent years making music and their remarkable output ranges from soul to funk and old-school hip hop”. They then embarked upon a lengthy acoustic tour of universities in The Coffee House Sessions picking up new fans and playlists on the way. The Gay Times even premiered the Flashdance inspired video for ‘DANCE INSTRUCTOR’, which hit over 100,000 views on YouTube.

“The world needs this kind of music – because it’s real and self-made, feel-good and original.”- Uncle Frank

The band’s self produced music is mixed by Grammy Award winning mixer and producer Tim Latham (Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, The Rolling Stones and Erykah Badu). Benbini first met Latham during a Lou Reed session at Quad Studios in New York. They immediately hit it off, and when it came to mixing the Uncle Frank album, Latham believed in the project so much, he committed to it before the band even secured a record deal.

Now with ‘FOUNTAINS’, the funk-driven track is filled with hypnotic grooves and a thumping 80’s-esque bass line that is sure to get listeners pumped up and on their feet. In it Benbini bellows “Take me to the fountain please, this is a madhouse // The stars are looking at you, can I be what you need?”…and in this madhouse, it’s definitely what new-wave funk and pop fans need to hear!
