Singer/Songwriter/Actress Kim Vogels Continues to Blend Her Multitude of Talents and “Gather Her Wolves”

Following Release of Debut EP “Native”, She’s Set to Release New Video for “Call of the Wild”

July, 2016 (New York, NY) — On the heels of her debut EP “Native”, Amsterdam’s own Singer/Songwriter/Actress Kim Vogels has been attracting plenty of attention with her unique blend of “Gypsy Folk Rock” from Long Island’s East End all the way to the Big Apple, as she gears up for the release of her brand new video “Call of the Wild” with the help of Hand Me Down Films.

Born in Amsterdam into a creative family, Kim Vogels began her artistic journey as a classical and jazz cellist at the age of five. Over time and over seven different cities in four different countries, Kim was drawn to create and express not just through music. This lead to her studies at prestigious drama school Rose Bruford College in London where she was able to explore all sides of acting, performance art, physical and experimental theatre, and the blend of music and theatre.

After a few years in London she attended The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York City for two years. There she was able to truly find and explore her love for the art of acting on stage and in front of the camera. As a professional Actress, music has again become an avenue of expression using her cello as well as guitar to create original material. Finding a niche in the acting industry as an actor/musician it was her role as “Jazz”, a 1960’s Greenwich Village Beatnik poetess, in Kingdom Entertainment’s Folk City: The Musical, that really sparked the singer/songwriter within her. Folk City “captured the intoxicating world of music, drugs, and sex that lured America’s youth to 1960s Greenwich Village”. It was in this production where she met fellow actor and musician Cass Dillon, who later went on to produce Kim Vogels’ debut EP “Native”. She is currently working on putting together a tour and on writing/recording new material.

“It may be a simple concept but it is a strong one: ‘to love, enjoy and fully experience the movement of your own body’. I love to dance and move and walk and breath, things we often take for granted, ‘Call of The Wild’ is my invitation to move”

Being brought up surrounded by so many different cultures she was drawn to the power and energy of the original sound of those worlds i.e. Flamenco, Klezmer, Celtic, early Persian, Gypsy, Native American, Folk & Blues etc. Even though these musical styles are all quite different from each other, they hold a similarity in their powerful connection to their culture. In the creation of Kim’s music and her first EP it was apparent how many different global influences there were. As she moved from place to place she was drawn to the soul of those cultures, eventually fusing them together to create her own sound, her own unique culture, her own “Native” produced at Baby Studios on Long Island.

Italian Singer/Songwriter Alessandro Coli Continues to Make Impact on the US Pop Scene

With Dynamic Lyrics and A Gifted Songwriting Prowess, The Young Star’s Music Has Been Remixed by Some of the World’s Most Renowned DJs and Producers

Sant’Arcangelo di Romagna, Italy (September, 2016) — Having reached #22 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart earlier this year, Italian Singer/Songwriter and Pop Recording Artist Alessandro Coli continues his rise as one of the breakout stars of the worldwide pop scene. He’s been working recently in Miami with multi-platinum producer and remixer Chris “C-Rod” Rodriguez on his latest songs including his upcoming single “I Betcha”, while releasing past fiery hits and remixes from tracks like “Flames” to the sultry “My Religion”. Now he’s ready to bring his powerful talents stateside as he heads to New York this October to promote his new music with Performances, Radio and TV appearances, and more!

Alessandro Coli is a very promising and gifted singer/songwriter of the new generation, with easy flowing lyrics that have a strong International breath mark.

Born in Santarcangelo di Romagna in 1997, he has been in love with music since he was five years old; his passion for music grew more and more by listening to Freddie Mercury.

He participated in a famous TV show called Io Canto, where his musicianship was immediately detected, and in 2011 he released his first single “Sento che”, which in only 10 days topped the Italian radio charts and was in the top 30 for over a month. After his single’s success, his first digital EP “Senza Paura” was released, distributed by Sony Music.

With his most recent release of “Flames”, legendary DJ publication Kings Of Spins called it a “smokin’ club track” which “furthers his commitment to making an impact on the US Club scene– and he DEFINITELY steps his efforts UP”. The remixes include a spectrum of multi-international producers like DJ Suri & Chris Daniel (Spain), Cristian Poow (South America/Argentina), Australian up-and-coming talent Starshine, Miami-born Italian Giuseppe D., Americans DJ Alan bd & Clint Clinton, and Cuban up-n-comer STINGRAY.

Coli is fully dedicated and committed to his music, and thanks in part to the outpouring of support from his fans worldwide- he’s been able to continually commit to his talent and love for the craft that has made him a star.

And with his trip to the U.S. on the horizon, you’ll surely want to keep an eye out and your ears open wherever the dance party scene is the hottest because, sure enough, the rising star will be right in the middle!

Mark Newman at BB Kings tomorrow, Singer/Songwriter and Sideman Continues to Rock with Upcoming Performances

Having Performed Alongside Greats From Sting to Elvis Costello and John Oates (Hall & Oates) and Opening for Don Felder of The Eagles as well as Bluesman Delbert McClinton in the Last Year, He’ll Move Forward with More Great Live Shows in Coming Weeks

March, 2016 (New York, NY) — Bringing tones of familiarity yet originality to his new EP “Brussels”–out last March 2015 on Danal Music and on iTunes and CD Baby–singer/songwriter Mark Newman is continuing to make his mark on both East and West Coasts and internationally. But unlike his past work as sideman to so many soul, blues, and rock greats of our time like John Oates (Hall and Oates), Jim McCarty (The Yardbirds), Willy DeVille, Sam The Sham, and Sam Moore; he’s played a ton of exciting solo and full-band showcases recently, notably NYC’s B.B. King’s for the Delbert McClinton Birthday Show, The Space at Westbury opening for the one and only Don Felder, and The Blue Note in Tokyo, Japan! And with Spring 2016 rapidly approaching, he’s added a number of new dates to his lineup including tomorrow night Tuesday, March 22nd w/ Blues Guitarist Coco Montoya @ B.B. Kings Blues Club & Grill, New York, NY

A New York native, Newman’s musical prowess has taken him around the world several times over, playing with an eclectic mix of noted musical talents from Sting to Elvis Costello, and Travis Tritt as well as his own solo work. A multi stringsman, Mark has mastered electric/acoustic/lap steel guitar as well as the mandolin and dobro, and with a voice reminiscent of many rock and bluesmen before him- it has the familiarity of an old friend yet the power and soul of many of today’s rock, soul, folk and R&B icons. For over five years, Newman and fellow songwriter Naomi Margolin have run the “Music From the Hive”  Singer/Songwriter Series, and for the past two years- “The Original Music Series” for bands, in an attempt to keep original music alive on Long Island. Newman also records and produces local artists in the Long Island/NYC area.

He’s said of some of his mentors: “You’d have to be an idiot not to learn from the guys I’ve had the honor of playing with,” adding “Hey, Sam The Sham didn’t just write ‘Wooly Bully.’ He wrote some of the best blues songs I ever heard. And Sam Moore’s almost 80 yet sings like he’s 25. He taught me not to over-think, just open your mouth and let it go. I don’t know if I’ve even come close to doing this but what I do know is what I’ve learned from those three is invaluable.”

Having released “Walls of Jericho” in 2010, the album is filled with intricate guitar work and mixed with a plethora of sounds from hard rock to a lighter more Dylanesque folk tinge, but this style comes even more to the forefront on “Brussels”. The new live acoustic-driven EP packs a bluesy punch reminiscent of Clapton’s “Unplugged” album through both the guitar work and raw vocal power. On the first track “Mean Season (Lucille, Lucille)”, Newman bellows “I waited til’ dawn, see if the sun will shine when you’re gone // You turn away, I just can’t stay where I don’t belong” and like many early bluesmen before him, you can hear the soulful longing and strife in his voice. With the brilliant slide-guitar work in “Dead Man’s Shoes” we’re easily transported in our minds to the West in the era of outlaws and cowboy boots, and in “Must Be A Pony” reminded about the power of a child’s enthusiasm and the efforts not to lose it as time goes by.

Upcoming Shows:

Tuesday, March 22nd w/ Blues Guitarist Coco Montoya @ B.B. Kings Blues Club & Grill, New York, NY

Fri. April 1, 8:00 – Strand BBQ, Astoria

Tue. April 5, 9:00 – KJ Farrell’s, Bellmore – with Blue Velvo, Dave Diamond, Baker 8 https://www.facebook.com/events/1660943900794867/

Thu. April 21, 10:00 – Bar Louie, Commack https://www.facebook.com/events/602541093248532/

Wednesday, April 27th w/ Spuyten Duyvil & Friends Performing the Music of Linda Ronstandt @ Rockwood Music Hall- Stage 2, New York, NY

In an age of technology with the power of easy editing techniques at the touch of a button, it can be reassuring to know that a musician can still pack a punch with raw talent as a songwriter and overall accomplished performer, and Mark Newman’s live EP “Brussels” along with his carefully crafted live shows do just that.

You won’t want to miss this incredible performer and guitarist-at-large as he continues bringing his talents to the stage throughout 2016! To see for yourself, head to any one of his upcoming NY dates!
