She sings “I do it all in my imagination // I’ve got a castle in the clouds, and the prince will save me somehow // but it’s all in my imagination” with a bold confidence that can often make listeners forget how young she truly is. But she’s able to pull it back to her wonder of it all in a testament to her youthful creativity – “Somebody told me there’s a big world out there and I’m ready to show it, I already know you could still make something from nothing, just close your eyes”.

Brooklyn Power Pop Outfit LUV DOT GOV Set to Release Debut LP “At Least We’ve Got This Madness” Friday, May 18th

Brooklyn Power Pop Outfit LUV DOT GOV Set to Release Debut LP “At Least We’ve Got This Madness” Friday, May 18th

With influences ranging from Weezer to Grandaddy, ELO, The Beach Boys and more — NYC/U.K. based rockers LUV DOT GOV have been bringing their unique brand of indie rock to both sides of the pond since their 2016 inception and growing their fanbase from Edinburgh to Brooklyn. Now, as they get ready to unleash their debut LP “At Least We’ve Got This Madness” recorded “in the land of unicorns and castles”….the world will get a better chance to see what the band is truly all about with with TWO upcoming NYC gigs at PIANOS Thursday, April 19th and their RECORD RELEASE at The Local Friday, May 18th at 8PM!

Luv Dot Gov, the brainchild of Matthew Pop (vocals/guitar) and Stevie Seaweeds (drums/vocals), was born on a rooftop in Brooklyn in the summer 2016 as a response to dark, trying times — both personally and politically. The band would quickly become a vehicle for some of the best emotionally honest power pop this side of the 90s. Thankfully, they were armed with the finest collection of tunes penned by Pop over the course of his decades-long career, marrying heartbroken but hopeful lyrics to sticky-sweet melodies — all set to precisely arranged, chunky down-tuned guitars.

By fall 2016, the fledgling Luv Dot Gov had recruited Sean Egan on bass, and had a few local gigs under their belts. However, stressed and depressed in a post-election US, Pop ran away to Scotland for a brief respite in November. It was here he linked up with Graeme Young, a producer and operator of Chamber Studio in Edinburgh. A plan was soon hatched to record Luv Dot Gov’s debut album abroad, taking advantage of Young’s top notch equipment, expertise and extensive network of first-class musicians. After another smattering of stateside and UK shows, Matt and Steve decamped to Scotland for the spring of 2017 to lay down tracks for the record. Here, isolated from the stressors of the States, the songs blossomed into intricate but accessible pop-rock anthems, equally suited for blasting out a car stereo or headphones-on introspection.

LDG 2.pngLDG 3.png

Upon Matt and Steve’s return to New York that summer, the band rounded out its roster by bringing in Brandon von Fehr (lead guitar) and Patrick Fischer (keyboard/synth). Now equipped to capture the record’s expansive arrangements live, the new five-piece lineup started honing their skills, sharpening their set into a muscular, airtight slice of indie rock. Soon thereafter, they began booking gigs at venues both trendy and historic (Pine Box Rock Shop, the Bitter End), winning over audiences with their lively stage presence and nostalgic yet forward-thinking sound.

Meanwhile, Young continued refining tracks across the pond, and the resulting album; the hooky and bittersweet “At Least We’ve Got This Madness,” is ready to make its debut on May 18th. In honour of its release, the band will perform the album in its entirety at The Local in Queens, NY! But before then, you can catch them live at PIANOS on Thursday, April 19th. They’ll also be performing a number of shows during the UK’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, with more UK and US dates to follow.

Misfit Mindz Entertainment, an imprint of Nordican Music Group/The Orchard/Sony Music Entertainment is set to release a benefit record from Ian Erixfeaturing survivors of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting — with 100% of all profits going to victim’s families and survivors of gun violence in addition to non-profits that support social justice movements, such as the student formed March For Our Lives and #NeverAgainMSD organizations. The recording, “Raise Some Hell“, pays homage to the recent lives lost, but is not a sad or sappy song. Annamaria Attending 4th Annual Event “The Soirée” At The B.B. King Blues Club, NYC This Saturday, January 27th

As the 60th Annual GRAMMY® Awards get ready to make their return to NYC, NYC based Singer/Songwriter Annamaria is ready to kick off the celebration as she hits the red carpet for the 4th Annual Soirée at the world famous B.B. King Blues Club (237 W 42nd St, New York, NY)!

THE SOIREE is The Music Industry’s Annual Kick-off Gala during GRAMMY Weekend, and has quickly become one of the most anticipated leading annual music industry events. Bringing together Grammy Nominees and Winners, music industry executives, major labels, managers, producers, licensors, agents, celebrities and industry influencers – bringing the young star right in the center of celebration!

This year’s Honoree at the Gala will be famed singer/actress/advocate Dionne Warwick, who will be receiving the “Living Legend” Award. Past honorees and attendees have also included former Tour Manager to Elvis Presley – Joe Esposito, and Motown’s first A&R Executive, Singer/Songwriter and producer Mickey Stevenson!

annamaria reflection.jpg

The city has breathed new life, and taking center stage with poise beyond her years is 17yr old Annamaria!

The Singer/Songwriter has been honing her craft for as long as she can remember, saying “I always listened to music and wondered what my own words would sound like along with it. One day I finally sang and played along with a song on the radio…and I was hooked!

Working with Emmy Award-winning producer/singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Eren Cannata (son of Billy Joel saxophonist Richie Cannata), she has been writing and producing music – all original, radio-ready, and all immediately viable. Pairing the two was not coincidental, but a canny move by the young talent’s manager – John Casale. “I wanted a producer who’d be sensitive to Annamaria’s music and serve it well. Richie was the one, his experience and taste shows in every note.” Adds Cannata, “Eren and Annamaria have worked so well together. She’s the most prolific young artist we have worked with in years. She is on her way to great success in this industry!”.

With her latest release “Affection”, she’s begun sending out to the world her own brand of fresh new R&B and Soul laden pop music with a distinctly powerful vocal edge. “Kiss me, love me, like no one’s in the room // You miss me, you want me, then show me you do // Need your love and attention, all your affection” sings Annamaria in the sleek and passionate track the brings her smooth vocal tones to the forefront over a subtle yet powerful backing track.

Though she lists her favorite artists as Tori Kelly, Justin Bieber, Michael Jackson, Demi Lovato, and Christina Aguilera – her own music remains truly original. And with a full record release imminent along with groundwork being laid for her first tour, it won’t be long until Annamaria’s music is everywhere.

Now, as she gets ready to head to one of the biggest GRAMMY® Week events in NYC and continue connecting with the Music Industry’s best and brightest at the 4th Annual Soirée at B.B. King Blues Club, there seems to be a lot more in store for her as 2018 progresses.

UK’s Uncle Frank Debuts New Single “Fountains”

The Funk/Pop/Hip-Hop/Rock Group Out of Leicester Drops First Track From Forthcoming 2017 Album “Love Lion”

November, 2016 — Following the release of 2015’s ‘MAXIMUM RESPECT’, Uncle Frank– the funky, technicolored, UK group invoking the spirit of Barry White, James Brown, Hall and Oates, Nile Rodgers and more are back! Releasing their brand new single “Fountains” along with an accompanying music video, the band who “will stick in your head and create smiles for miles” is set to kick off a set of live dates in the UK this December!

Uncle Frank makes the best kind of music…. music with soul, funk, rage and love! The band, made up of multi-instrumentalists and producers Frank Benbini (also one third of The Fun Lovin’ Criminals) & Naim Cortazzi, the band has garnered National Radio plays from Huey Morgan on BBC6 Music and BBC Radio 2 and A-listed on Regional Radio throughout the UK. Already having made waves in 2016 with features in The Sun, Spindle Magazine, Music-News.com and The Daily Star, Uncle Frank took the last ever CMJ Music Festival by storm in October 2015 at Fat Baby in New York described as ‘The best Band at CMJ without a doubt’ by Spindle Magazine.

Touring with the legendary UB40 in America, Frank and Naim duetted with Ali Campbell and UB40 at New Jersey’s Performing Arts Centre singing a reggae version Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ which is on the Radio Riddler album ‘Purple Reggae’ (produced by Frank and Fast from FLC) and featuring vocals from Ali Campbell, Sinead O’Connor, Suggs from Madness, Citizen Cope and Beverley Knight.

The band’s label debut album ‘SMILES FOR MILES’ released in May 2104 was Best described by Penny Black Music- ‘It is proving impossible to keep this out of my CD player at the moment. A fantastic album’. The pair’s love of music has led them to create an album that is an eclectic mix of soul, pop, jazz, funk, old-school hip hop and easy listening. Taking three-months to record ‘Smiles for Miles’ in their home studio, Benbini and Cortazzi arranged, played the majority of instruments themselves, and engineered the whole album.

Uncle Frank were signed to an unprecedented 3 album deal in 2013 by MITA Records, and their first single ‘STEP INTO MY ROOM’ was supported by an innovative tour of fans houses, performing concerts in their living rooms. This was featured by BBC 1 Television Evening News which reached an audience of 600,000 viewers. The band’s second single ‘SOMETHIN’ SOMETHIN’ accompanied by a robot animation video was featured by The Daily Express, saying “Frank Benbini and Naim Cortazzi, have spent years making music and their remarkable output ranges from soul to funk and old-school hip hop”. They then embarked upon a lengthy acoustic tour of universities in The Coffee House Sessions picking up new fans and playlists on the way. The Gay Times even premiered the Flashdance inspired video for ‘DANCE INSTRUCTOR’, which hit over 100,000 views on YouTube.

“The world needs this kind of music – because it’s real and self-made, feel-good and original.”- Uncle Frank

The band’s self produced music is mixed by Grammy Award winning mixer and producer Tim Latham (Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, The Rolling Stones and Erykah Badu). Benbini first met Latham during a Lou Reed session at Quad Studios in New York. They immediately hit it off, and when it came to mixing the Uncle Frank album, Latham believed in the project so much, he committed to it before the band even secured a record deal.

Now with ‘FOUNTAINS’, the funk-driven track is filled with hypnotic grooves and a thumping 80’s-esque bass line that is sure to get listeners pumped up and on their feet. In it Benbini bellows “Take me to the fountain please, this is a madhouse // The stars are looking at you, can I be what you need?”…and in this madhouse, it’s definitely what new-wave funk and pop fans need to hear!
