Sammi Rae Murciano & Los Vegas Performing LIVE at The Rail in Smithtown Saturday, June 15th

She’ll Take to The LI Stage with The Reggaetón Artist To Perform Their Latest Escápate” and MORE

Long Island, NY (June, 2019) — With her recent Reggaetón-infused hit Escápateadding a whole new dimension to her already dynamic sound, Singer-Songwriter Sammi Rae Murciano and Los Vegas are bringing more of their Summer heat to Long Island as they prepare to take the stage at The Rail (281 W Main St, Smithtown, NY 11787) on Saturday, June 15th from 8-11PM ($5 Adv, 21+)!

The magnetic collaboration brings to life the sentimental romance often featured in Reggaetón hits with an energetically pumping backbeat and laid-back flow that is sure to make it a club hit. Trading lyrics like “If I leave with you, I want to be there with you through the night // I want to feel your arms around me, hold me tight // Your body next to mine, you make me feel so high” with Los Vegas, and the refrain “Never mind what anybody says, I just want to dance the night away, I just want to know if we can escape”, Murciano shows off her vocal prowess in a new genre which she seems just as at home in as her past pop-driven tracks. On working with Vegas, Murciano says “It has been amazing to work together. To collaborate with someone who has the same passion and dedication for music as I do. We are very excited for what’s to come and have a lot of new music coming soon.

A Long Island native, Sammi Rae Murciano has been singing for four years, and has been getting a ton of praise from audiences nationwide. Her strong and soulful voice shows an incredible amount of talent and dedication, yet knowing that you have to believe in yourself and have confidence to be successful has been her continued mantra. On her single “Unpredictable”, Murciano continues this mantra saying that the song “talks about not letting anyone stop you from following your dreams”. Rising above any criticisms, she continues “I’ve never let anything that anyone has said to me change me or bring me down, and I like to talk about that to inspire other people who may be going through the same things”.

Her single “Dream Bigger”, released earlier this year, follows a similar story of empowerment through knowing your worth in a relationship, which Murciano elaborated on saying “I have been broken and I have had my heart ripped into pieces. The hardest battle is what you know in your head and what you feel in your heart. Never settle for anything less than you deserve and choose what will make you happy.”

Woodstock Revival Concert to Rock Old Bethpage Restoration Sunday, June 10th

Woodstock Revival Concert to Rock Old Bethpage Restoration Sunday, June 10th

The classic rock scene on Long Island is surging, and this phenomenon has fueled a growing popularity among the many tribute bands who breathe new life into this music at venues across Nassau and Suffolk. The 6th Annual Woodstock Revival is scheduled for Sunday, June 10th and will feature live music by Wonderous Stories, Half Step, Milagro, Jellyband and Dave Diamond Band, who will be recreating the music of The Who, The Grateful Dead, Santana, Sly & The Family Stone, Janis Joplin, The Band, Hendrix, CSNY, Creedence, and more!

FOR TICKETS, VISIT:

https://bit.ly/2HUhoC1

Along with all the tie-dyed regalia and familial hugs, the event will showcase live painting and exhibiting by dozens of artists, plus vending, kids’ activities, food & beverage, yoga, massage, and hula hooping.

Says festival producer, Rich Rivkin, “Woodstock Revival is one of my all time favorite days. It’s where I get to dance and hang out at the park with a thousand of my closest friends, and you can see from the expressions on everyone’s face that happiness abounds. There’s clearly a peace & love kind of vibe that is unique to this event, and the music is just amazing.”

woodstock 2.png

Communities of devoted fans have coalesced around these bands during recent years, sparking new friendships and a tangible sense of camaraderie among folks who share a common passion for the music that they grew up with.

When these fans converge to see their favorite bands perform, the energy of the event seems to exceed the sum of its parts. It often becomes more than just a music experience. At its peak, there is a sensation of shared knowingness – something that’s conveyed by a simple glance or smile, among those who find themselves dancing, high fiving, and singing in unison.

This joyous brand of social harmony plays out in spectacular form each summer when Long Island’s annual Woodstock-themed music festival takes the stage at Old Bethpage Village Restoration (1303 Round Swamp Rd, Old Bethpage) June 10th from Noon until 7:30 pm!

Brooke Moriber Performing at NYC’s Mercury Lounge Wednesday, April 11th To Benefit EB Research Partnership

Brooke Moriber Performing at NYC’s Mercury Lounge Wednesday, April 11th To Benefit EB Research Partnership

With her acclaimed National Anthem performance at Madison Square Garden just this past November following the release of her latest EP “Here and Gone”, singer/songwriter Brooke Moriber is getting ready to hit the stage once more – in support of a great cause. On Wednesday, April 11th she’ll perform live at the Mercury Lounge with support from Julian Morgan in an effort to raise money and awareness for the EB Research Partnership – helping the fight against Epidermolysis Bullosa.

WATCH: Brooke Moriber Sings National Anthem LIVE at Madison Square Garden

A native New Yorker, Moriber has been critically acclaimed for her “clarion voice” by the Associated Press and songs that are “destined for high rotation”. Her distinctive sound ranges in influences from Linda Ronstadt to Amy Lee.

Brooke’s unique career started on the Broadway stage where she earned a reputation for her powerhouse vocals and has received special mention by the New York Times for her acting abilities.

Since the age of fifteen, Brooke has been writing and licensing her own original pop/country/rock music to network television and several soundtracks. Brooke’s remarkable ability to juggle her career as a recording artist and an actor has found her sharing the stage and screen with such performers as The Gin Blossoms, Cindy Lauper, Alan Cumming, Lily Taylor and Kristin Johnston.

WATCH – “Cause The Wave: Eddie Vedder and the EB Research Partnership”

EB Research Partnership (formerly Jackson Gabriel Silver Foundation) is the largest 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to funding research aimed at treating and ultimately curing Epidermolysis Bullosa, a group of devastating and life-threatening skin disorders that affect children from birth. An individual with EB lacks a critical protein that binds the layers of skin together. Without this protein, the skin tears apart, blisters and sheers off, leading to severe pain, disfigurement, and wounds that never heal. EB affects the body inside and out. Blisters occur all over the body, as well as in the eyes, mouth, esophagus, and other internal organs. EB causes severe pain, disfigurement, and in too many cases, an early death from an aggressive form of skin cancer. It is estimated that EB affects at least one in every 50,000 births. EB is not specific to any ethnicity or gender. Given that EB affects only 30,000 people in the US, advancing this research relies on the generosity of individuals and corporations.

With donor support, EB Research Partnership has been aggressively and efficiently funding research since 2010. To date, they have raised over $15 million for research grants and been instrumental in securing an additional $35 million for critical EB research. The organization helped to create and continues to support research enabling infrastructure to ensure that treatments will get to those in need as swiftly as possible, and with stars like Moriber and “Pearljam” rocker/activist Eddie Vedder bringing more awareness to the disorder, it can only continue to help in the fight.

And on Wednesday, April 11th Brooke Moriber will help continue that fight as she performs in support of the EB Research Partnership at NYC’s Mercury Lounge (217 E Houston St, New York, NY)!

Dr. R. Geoffrey Broderick Continues Groundbreaking Efforts to Help Animals with New Book “Compassion for Pets”

When we think of common health and nutrition practices that we use day by day to help live long and fruitful lives, what our diet consists of is usually the biggest factor. But where does that leave the wonderful creatures that bring so much joy to those lives…our pets? “Compassion For Pets” is 232 pages of a money-saving, grief-saving, lifesaving, groundbreaking new book by Dr. R. Geoffrey Broderick- practicing veterinarian for 48 years, veterinary nutritionist and creator of Cornucopia Pet Foods. Uncovering the dirty secrets of the commercial pet food industry and offering enlightening and insightful information regarding proper pet nutrition for both dogs and cats, “Compassion for Pets” is helping thousands of pet owners give their companions the absolute best and increase both the quality and duration of their lives.

Dr. Broderick, or “Doc” as he is commonly known all over the world, will return to his SUNY Delhi alma mater on Thursday, April 20th for the first time since 1963 when he was a student in Delhi’s Veterinary Science program.  Doc will be autographing copies of “Compassion for Pets” in the Farrell Student and Community Center on the Delhi campus Thursday, April 20th.   He will be at Barnes and Noble at SUNY Delhi from 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m.  Later that day the public is invited to hear him speak in Okun Theatre.  His lecture will be preceded by a reception of light hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks at 5:15 p.m. in the Farrell lobby with the lecture beginning at 5:45 p.m.  A book signing will immediately follow, around 7 p.m.   There is not charge to attend.  The event is sponsored by the SUNY Delhi Alumni Association and Barnes and Noble at SUNY Delhi.  The hard cover “Compassion for Pets” book costs $29.99.

In the 60’s, Doc went on to earn his degree from Kansas State University.  He declared the commencement of the natural pet food movement  at the Health & Nutrition Expo in New York City in the early 70’s, and has been creating products free of chemical additives, artificial colors, flavors, sugars and MSG ever since. His award-winning formulas are sold around the world and recognized as the first pet foods that use Preventive Nutrition to actually help prevent disease in animals. Super-Food antioxidant and Phyto-Food immunity support are two Probiotic formulas that represent the culmination of nearly 50 years of Doc’s veterinary medical practice as well as research and worldwide search for the ultimate combination of ingredients to ignite the immune system in cats, dogs and other animals.

The Cornucopia canned food for dogs and cats is created from non-GMO, certified organic, human-grade ingredients and wild-caught fish and is free from antibiotics, hormones, rendered meats and meals, and carrageenan.

This unique approach to nutrition helps pets live longer, healthier lives. “I believe that Preventive Nutrition is the first line of defense against disease and aging and that a perfect diet is one of the best things you can do to secure lasting health for anyone. That’s my promise to you. This is the new paradigm in health care for pets, this is ‘health assurance’, and this is my gift to my children, the animals of this world,” says Doc. “Compassion for Pets” covers topics that range from the difference in the requirements of the diet of an omnivorous carnivore (the dog), and an obligate carnivore (the cat) to learning what pet food really is, where the ingredients come from, and how it is made; how it is unacceptable to lose one-half to two-thirds of a pet’s life by feeding non-human-grade toxic pet food and teaches the consumer how to read and understand a pet food label.

Doc’s work, however, has far surpassed his Long Island based clinic and efforts to produce quality nutritional food for pets. In February 1997, he traveled to Calcutta after being invited to teach people how to feed masses of animals in India by a group called Compassionate Crusaders Trust. While there, he met with many people in academia, business, the banking industry, and those involved in feeding and sheltering homeless animals. The most striking individual with whom he spent time on several occasions, was Mother Teresa. Upon meeting her, Doc explained that he was there to help the hungry and homeless animals of Calcutta, as well as all of India. Mother Teresa (who the Vatican recently declared a Saint) looked at him and said, “What about the children? Remember the children. Don’t forget the children.” to which he replied, “But Mother, the animals are my children.” They met on several occasions after that and had many discussions regarding Doc’s work with the animals, the children, the homeless, the hungry and the poor. In this spirit, Doc has donated thousands of dollars of food to animal shelters throughout his career.

Having had such a profound experience, it continues to push Dr. Broderick towards his passion for helping animals as well as his worldwide humanitarian efforts. This is thoroughly shown in “Compassion For Pets” through his years of involvement as a pioneer in animal nutrition, his veterinary practice (Southdown Animal Hospital, 229 Wall St, Huntington, New York 11743 – Phone 631-427-7321), and continued lectures and speaking engagements in which he travels to various conferences, schools, and community centers.

Doc will conclude his local visit on Friday, April 21st as a guest lecturer in SUNY Delhi’s Veterinary Science classes.
